Test Fixtures, Adapters and Accessories
Successful testing of any electronic component requires both a good test instrument and fast repeatable connections
Transformer testing requires multiple windings to be tested for a wide range of parameters, ranging from low DC resistance to 240V power testing to 5KV AC Hi-Pot.
The Voltech AT Series Transformer Testers are therefore designed to be used in conjunction with a fixture system that provides reliable, easy-to-use and high quality connections to the test component.
The following provides guidance on the some of test fixtures available for a number of different transformer types and package styles.
Test fixtures are not difficult to construct, and good test fixtures will minimize operator fatigue, ensure optimum repeatability, prevent unnecessary rejects and increase throughput of the transformer tester.
See the slider to the right for examples of what is possible.
The information below will give you a description of the fixtures, accessories and services we can provide which cover ;
- adapting your existing fixtures / test sockets to work with the AT series
- building your own fixture
- quick fixturing for prototyping
- obtaining a custom built fixture to your requirements
Voltech Starter Fixture
The simple way to mount or adapt existing sockets or connectors to work with the AT5600's rapid fixture system.
The starter fixture kit consists of a base plate on top of which sockets, adapters and existing fixture assemblies of almost any type can be directly mounted.
The fixture then provides the inter-connect to the 20 test nodes on the AT Series tester.
If you already have test adapters, then they can be adapted to an AT tester through this kit.
Coda Systems also supply a range of socket kits and test connectors, which are suitable for use with the starter fixture; More specific details here.

Versatile and fast connections for a wide variety of transformer styles
The Voltech universal fixture comes ready to use with 40 x 4mm sockets pre-wired to the corresponding 40 test nodes on the underside of the fixture.
It is ideal for testing during prototyping or when working with small batch quantities of transformers.
This provides a quick way to get testing without the need for bespoke fixtures.
Please see below for details of optional connectors.
Part # 91-186
AT Universal Lead Set
We’ve put together a collection of useful probes and connectors, which will provide you with fixture connectivity under almost any circumstance.
This package is ideal for testing a wide range of component types. These leads can be used when testing low volume and/or high mix transformers with flying leads or non-standard connections.
Each of the 5 items can be bought individually if you wish - please see the below individual descriptions..
The AT Universal Lead Set contains the following
10 x AT Flying lead connection posts
10 x AT Non-Kelvin grabber clips
10 x AT Kelvin crocodile clips
10 x AT Non-Kelvin crocodile clips
10 x AT 4mm safety banana connector
Part # 78-030
AT Flying Lead Connection Post
Easy to use when testing components with flying leads.
Wire can be easily threaded through the quick release push-posts to make connection.
Used to quickly connect loose transformer wires up to the 4mm safety sockets of the 91-186 universal fixture plate.
Suitable for wire diameters up to 2.54 mm / 0.1 inch. 2 Amp rated.
Part # 78-026
AT Non-Kelvin Grabber Lead
Non-Kelvin grabber allows quick connection from the pin of your wound component to the 4mm safety sockets of the 91-186 Universal Fixture Plate.
The non-Kelvin grabber clip can be used with ease when testing components with flying leads or small pitch pin connections. The spring loaded clip action ensures a firm connection
Suitable for wire diameters up to 2.54 mm / 0.1 inch. 2 Amp rated.
Part # 78-027
AT Kelvin Crocodile Clip
The Kelvin crocodile clip allows quick connection from the pin of your wound component to the 4mm safety sockets of the 91-186 Universal Fixture Plate.
Can be used with ease when testing components with flying leads and/or non-standard connections.
The spring loaded action gives a secure connection, and provides a full true-Kelvin connection up to the point of contact, so that all stray impedances and be compensated out.
Suitable for wire diameters or tabs up to 5.00 mm / 0.2 inch. 2 Amp rated.
Part # 78-028
AT Non-Kelvin Crocodile Clip
The AT non-kelvin crocodile clip can be used with ease when testing components with flying leads and/or non-standard connections. Great for use with tab connections, or screen / core connections.
Suitable for wire diameters or tabs up to 5.00 mm / 0.2 inch. 2 Amp rated.
Part # 78-029
AT 4mm Safety Banana Connector
This connector can be used with the Flying Lead Connection Post when testing components with flying leads and/or non-standard connections, and where speed of connection is more important to you than maintaining true 4-wire kelvin connections up to point of connection.
Provides a simple single connection point for the 78-026 post, or any of your own connectors using standard 4mm terminals.
Uses same pitch as the 91-186 Universal fixture plate source and measure connectors. 2 Amp rated.
Part # 78-255
