DC1000 + DC1000A Functional Checks
Three Quick tests to check that your DC1000 is operating correctly.
The following provides you with some quick checks to confirm unit operation of both the DC1000 and DC1000A
1. Check unit can provide 25 A into short
a, Short DC1000 output using a 25 AMP rated short.
b, Check interlock plug is inserted in rear.
c, Set DC1000 to 25 AMPS and enable.
d, No error codes should be seen on display (eg should show 25.00, not"E009"). Compliance light should NOT come on.
Cooling fans should turn on during this time.
Unit should be capable of generating 25 Amps into a short indefinitely.
2. Check output @ 0 AMPS DC to DMM
a, connect DVM set to DC AMPS using DMM A input terminals .Connect these to DC1000 output terminals.
b, Set DC1000 to 0 Amps and enable.
c, DMM should read 0 00 +/- 0.02 Amps.
d, Most popular DMMS are only rated to 10 Amps, so take care NOT to exceed this on the DC1000.
3. Check output @1 AMP DC to DMM
a, connect DVM set to DC AMPS using DMM A input terminals .Connect these to DC1000 output terminals.
b, Set DC1000 to 1.00 Amps and enable.
c, DMM should read 1 00 +/- 0.02 Amps
d, Most popular DMMS are only rated to 10 Amps, so take care NOT to exceed this on the DC1000.
